HOLIDAY EXCHANGE
BEACH HOLIDAYS
in WinTer?
crazy right? But sometimes the best time to hit the beach for a relaxing holiday is in winter.
There are a number of upsides to this including fewer people at your selected destination, cheaper off-peak prices at attractions, and
of course the romance of crisp cooler air. Plus if you’re a Southerner, you can escape to northern beaches for much milder winters with warmer temperatures and more sun than you’d expect. The water at most northern beaches during winter is actually a lot warmer than land temperatures, so there’s no excuse not to try any fun beach activities on offer including stand-up paddling, windsurfing, kiting or even sea kayaking. And if you still find it a bit nippy you can always settle for nice long strolls on the beach.
If you’re not quite convinced here are a few holiday suggestions that should tempt you.

Each year the whales make the journey
from the chilly Antarctic to Hervey Bay on Queensland’s Fraser Coast for some warm weather therapy while they give birth to their calves.Whale watching is a popular activity along the east coast as the whales make
their annual migration from July through to November, but Hervey Bay is the only place you’ll enjoy viewing the whales “up close and personal” - at play and not on the move!

a festival that represents everything that was cool about the '50s and ‘60s and everything that’s hot about 2011.

The streets of Old Bar come alive each year in October with two fun-filled days celebrating laid-back beach lifestyle and heritage at the Old Bar Beach Festival, now
in its fifth year. Remember lazy summer holidays, chances are at least one was taken in aVW Kombi van as you hit the road in search of sun, sand and surf. The KombiFest element of the festival captures its true spirit.
