Air China, the official carrier of the People’s Republic of China, recently announced that a direct service between Melbourne
and Beijing will commence on June 1st, 2015. The service will operate four times per week with evening departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It will increase to a daily service from October 25th, 2015.
Currently, Air China operates five times per week with non-stop service from Melbourne to Shanghai then onwards to Beijing. As of June 1st, this service will be from Melbourne to Shanghai direct with 199 economy class seats that boast a generous seat pitch of 32”.
