Sedona Packing List

What goes into your suitcase for a Sedona vacation will vary greatly depending on the time of year. The summer months are bright and offer relief from the triple digits found in Phoenix but the winter months are chilly and require multiple layers to go from day to night, especially at the Grand Canyon.

Spring (March – May)

Sedona’s high season offers perfect weather for outdoor activities. With highs from the 60s to 80s and lows in the 40s (degrees Fahrenheit) you will want light layers in the morning with the ability to peel off your outer layers.

  • Light sweaters and jackets
  • Long pants
  • Shorts (if you choose)
  • Long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts
  • Closed toe shoes for hiking or walking
  • Sunscreen
  • Protective hat
  • Sunglasses

Fall (October – November)

Changing leaves, dropping temperatures, and harvest activities create a fall-forward atmosphere is Sedona. Average highs are ideal with 60s to 70s with evenings in the 40s. Similar to Spring, Fall requires many layers with the ability to peel off your outer layers.

Summer (June – September)

Many Arizona residents from Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun visit Sedona during this time to escape triple digits by visiting where the highs are in the 90s. The lows can still dip into the lower 60s at night so be sure to also pack a light jacket!

Winter (December – February)

The least crowded time of the year, you can expect to see red rocks dusted in white with little snow on the ground in town – making getting around easy. With highs in the 50s and 60s and lows in the 30s.
