Book confidently thanks to our enhanced protection* option for your exchange holiday booking.
You can now add enhanced protection at the time of booking (or up to 30 days after booking) for exchange holidays starting more than 14 days away and with return travel dates up to and including 31.03.22.
This will safeguard both your trading power AND your exchange fee – meaning you can change your booking for ANY reason up to five days before check-in. So, whatever life throws your way, we’ve got you covered!

Don’t forget to ask about flexible booking options when speaking with our guides about hotel exchange and hotel bookings. Each hotel will have its own booking terms and cancellation policies which will apply.



For existing exchange holiday bookings made from 01.10.20 onwards:
i) If you have purchased enhanced protection* you’ll have the flexibility to modify your exchange booking and rebook a future exchange holiday, provided you rebook within six months of the date you choose to cancel your original exchange booking. If you wish to amend your booking to an alternative destination, please contact us. Our expert travel guides know which resorts are currently available where and when and will help you find an alternative destination to enjoy.
You must be an RCI member at the time of your rescheduled holiday.
ii) If you have NOT purchased enhanced protection, our standard cancellation terms apply. The only exception to this is for any bookings with a check in date up to and including 30.06.21, we will support you to cancel or change your booking within 30 days of travelling if you cannot travel due to a resort closure or Government-imposed mandates such as local lockdown, evacuation orders, borders closures or legal prohibitions on travel. In this instance, will we credit your RCI membership account with the full amount paid to date so you can rebook a future holiday by 30.09.21. You do not need to have travelled by 30.09.21 but you must be an RCI member at the time of your rescheduled holiday.
For extra holidays booked from 01.10.20 onwards:
Standard cancellation terms at the time of booking apply. The only exception to this is for any bookings with a check in date up to and including 30.06.21, we will support you to cancel or change your booking within 30 days of travelling if you cannot travel due to a resort closure or Government-imposed mandates such as local lockdown, evacuation orders, borders closures or legal prohibitions on travel. In this instance, will we credit your RCI membership account with the full amount paid to date so you can rebook a future holiday by 30.09.21. You do not need to have travelled by this date.
For any exchange and extra holiday bookings made between 04.03.20 to 30.09.20:
For any bookings with a check in date up to and including 30.06.21, we will support you to cancel or change your booking within 30 days of travelling if:
- Our affiliated resort is closed;
- There are travel restrictions preventing you getting to the resort, such as flight cancellations;
- You, or a member of your travelling party, unfortunately have an underlying health condition which could increase
- the risk of Covid19 infection and therefore could prevent you, or they, from travelling;
- There are Government-imposed or local authority restrictions in place which prevent you from enjoying your holiday, as planned.
If you wish to amend your booking to an alternative destination, please contact us. Our expert travel guides know which resorts are currently available where and when and will help you find an alternative destination to enjoy.
If you would prefer to cancel, for exchange holidays, we will credit your RCI membership account with the full amount of points or trading power used to make the booking, plus the full exchange fee and full Points Protection or Trading Power Protection fee (if applicable).
For any eligible exchange re-booking made, you’ll be given the option to add enhanced protection for a small fee to so that you can modify or rebook any future exchange holidays.
For extra holidays, we will credit your RCI membership account with the full amount paid to date. You have until 30.09.21 to book your replacement holiday. You do not need to have travelled by this date but you must be an RCI member at the time of your rescheduled holiday.
For any exchange holiday bookings made prior to 04.03.20:
Standard cancellation terms at the time of booking apply. The only exception to this is for any bookings with a check in date up to and including 30.06.21, we will support you to cancel or change your booking within 30 days of travelling if you cannot travel due to a resort closure or Government-imposed mandates such as local lockdown, evacuation orders, borders closures or legal prohibitions on travel. In this instance, will we credit your RCI membership account with the full amount paid to date so you can rebook a future holiday by 30.09.21. You do not need to have travelled by this date but you must be an RCI member at the time of your rescheduled holiday.
Applicable for all:
If you are considering cancelling your RCI holiday for a Covid-related reason or if you have purchased enhanced protection, please do not cancel your booking on RCI.com. Please contact us to discuss your options.
You can still cancel online for all other reasons, including home week bookings with or without enhanced protection.
Rebooked exchange holidays must be within the valid window of either your deposited week or points originally used. You must be an RCI member at the time of your rescheduled holiday.
If you have booked a hotel, car rental, cruise or activities through RCI Travel†, RCI Cruise° or one of our third-party partners, you will need to contact the individual provider for their own cancellation policy.
Please contact us if you wish to modify or cancel a hotel exchange or hotel (cash) booking. These are provided by Alliance Reservation Network. Individual hotel cancellation policies apply and are excluded from the policies cited above.
In the event of any conflict between the terms of your RCI membership and the terms set out above, the terms set out above shall apply.

You can extend or use your trading power to make it last longer, or use it to access greater discounts and reduce the cost of your stay with our new hotel exchange option. Use hotel exchange to enjoy a staycation in your home country; for visiting friends and family you've not seen for months; or start your next overseas break stress-free with a night at an airport hotel.
If you would like to add enhanced protection or to your existing exchange holiday booking, you can add this up to 30 days after booking for exchange holidays starting more than 14 days away, and with return travel dates up to and including 31.03.22. You can add this within your online account or by calling us.
And if you're an RCI Weeks member but don't feel ready to travel yet, you can still deposit your week as early as 12 months in advance so you get the maximum trading power to use for a future exchange holiday within the coming two years.



We appreciate you may be reluctant to venture beyond your home nations' border at the moment - or simply may not be able to.
Thanks to exchange holidays, extra holidays, hotel exchange and exclusive member pricing for nightly hotel stays, we currently have more availability and choice than ever before. So start searching for a gem of a resort in your own country and you could find your hidden holiday treasure!



We’re in constant contact with our affiliated resorts regarding their heightened efforts to keep accommodation and communal areas safe. Many now hold local authority endorsements for Covid19-compliant operation and have their own rules in place to safeguard guests whilst remaining as fully operational as they safely can be.
Read the latest Trip Advisor reviews from the resorts you like for first-hand, recent guest experiences and photos. Most of our affiliated resorts also have their own social media feeds which they regularly update.
For any booking you make, we advise you to check the resort website before travelling, or to contact them directly if you have any concerns.^
