Suggested Itinerary : Candidasa, Bali

DAY 1:

Check in, then head out to discover one of the many stunning snorkelling sites in Candidasa. Slip on your fins and mask, slide into the warm blue water, and enter another world where everything shimmers with an otherworldly beauty. Rainbow fish, manta rays, colourful reefs -- who knows what you might see!

DAY 2:

Plan a trek up Mount Agung, Bali’s most sacred (and active!) volcano and the highest point on the island. Your trek will start around 2.30am so that you will reach the peak just in time to catch the sun as it rises over this beautiful island.

Then head back to Hotel Rama Candidasa and rest those weary muscles as you watch the same sun go down from GARPU, a restaurant which pairs fine Mediterranean, Italian and Balinese cuisine with an endless sea view.

DAY 3:

Venture off the beaten path to Pasir Putih where you will find 500 metres of pristine white sand, cool blue waters and coconut palms! This place is so beautiful it was featured in the recent movie, “Eat, Pray, Love” starring Julia Roberts.

DAY 4:

Time for a day trip to Tenganan Village, home to what is considered to be the original Balinese people. Go early in the morning before the tourist hordes arrive, then spend the rest the day hiking through the area. There is a good 3-hour hiking trail that starts from the village and ends at Tirta Gangga, the Balinese water palace.

On the way, you will pass breathtaking rice terraces, sacred shrines and lazy country roads. You will be able to cool off with a dip in the wide, royal pool at Tirta Gangga at the end.

DAY 5:

Exhausted from the exertions of the previous day? There is only one thing to do today: live like Balinese royalty at the hotel spa. The Balinese massage technique of stretching, long strokes, skin rolling, and palm-and-thumb pressure is the perfect holiday treat for stressed city folk.

DAY 6:

Take a drive down to Bali’s cultural centre of Ubud via Manggis, Putung, Selat, Rendang and Bangli. On the way, you will be able to feast your eyes on sights such as mountains shrouded by clouds in the distance, breathtaking rice terraces, smiling Balinese people, and lonely fishermen plying their trade.

DAY 7:

For your last day, keep it simple. Put some time away for cooking lessons offered by the chefs from GARPU, Rama Candidasa's ocean-front restaurant. Laze away the rest of the day on a day-bed or at a garden gazebo overlooking the gardens. Happy hour specials, live music and traditional Balinese performances at the resort will round off these perfect seven days!
