Suggested Itinerary : Durban, South Africa


DAY 1:

Start your 1st day in Durban by exploring the city. You can swim, shop, dine at uShaka Marine World, get your souvenirs at the Indian market and bask in peace and sheer beauty of Durban’s nature sanctuary, The Botanical Gardens.


DAY 2:

Discover the historic town of Pietermaritzburg and continue to Howick. Visit the falls and the Arts & Craft Centre. In the afternoon, you can take a tree canopy tour at the Karkloof Nature Reserve.


DAY 3:

Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve is home to the eland and the bearded white vulture. You’re lucky if you’re visiting during their feeding season, from May to September and you’ll see a lot of action. You can then proceed to Dundee, passing battlefields and checking the Siege Museum and Talana.


DAY 4:

A trip to Shakaland Cultural Village offers an insight into the Zulus' former traditional way of life.


DAY 5:

Spend a day at Phinda, a popular safari destination and enjoy the games and bush walks.


DAY 6:

Transfer to Maputoland Forest Reserve where you can take up 4 x 4 excursions for diving, forest walks, fishing or birdwatching. There’s also black rhino tracking at Mkuze.


DAY 7:

Head on your way back to Durban and you can do all your last-minute shopping. ctivities include game-viewing, birdwatching, boat cruises, canoeing, black rhino tracking at Mkuze, snorkeling, scuba-diving and big game fishing at Sodwana Bay, flights along the coast and game walks.
