Travel Tips for Vacation Success

1. Check the Date on Your Passport

Most countries will not permit a traveler to enter its country unless the passport is set to expire at least six months after the final day of travel. If your passport has less than six months remaining until the expiration date, you should renew it right away.

2. Make Sure Your License is Real ID Compliant

Beginning Oct. 1, 2020, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license to fly within the U.S., it will need to be REAL ID compliant. Adult passengers 18 and over must show valid identification at the airport checkpoint in order to travel.

3. Take the Stress Out of Packing

Having a packing list that you can hold and markup will help you remember what you need to take with you so you don’t stress over forgetting your toothbrush.

4. Scan Important Documents for Yourself

It’s important to have backup copies of your important information in case it gets lost. Scan a copy of your ID, passport, and credit cards.

5. Invest in a City Attraction Card

If you are going to visit a lot of attractions in a short period of time, a city pass is going to save you money on admission to top museums, sites, and more.

6. Book Your Flight the Right Way

Change your browser to “incognito mode,” otherwise the site will start bumping up the flight costs because you have previously visited the site. Book flights on Tuesdays. Airlines announce their best deals on Monday nights, so by Tuesday afternoon, all other airlines will try and match those deals.

*Guest certificate recipient must be at least 21 years of age. Certain fees and time restrictions may apply.
