The warmer seasons beckon hikers who enjoy stunning views from Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock, and those bringing canoes or kayaks can explore one of the nearby rivers, or opt for more challenging level III rapids. Culture seekers can drive to nearby Boone, an energetic college town that offers nightlife, restaurants, and art.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

The nearest major airport is Tri-Cities Airport, located approx 44 mi away in Johnson City, TN. Turn Left out of the airport on Hwy 75. Go straight through the stop sign and continue on Hwy 75. Take Hwy 181S towards Johnson City. Take the Elizabethton Exit Highway 67E (Exit 31). At the bottom of the ramp turn Right on Hwy 67/321. Follow Hwy 67/321 through Elizabethton, and then turn Right on Hwy 19E. Follow 19E through Roan Mountain, TN, and into Elk Park, NC. Turn Left on Hwy 194 in Elk Park. Continue 7 mi to Banner Elk, NC, and turn Right at the light on Hwy 184. Blue Ridge Village will be 4 mi on the left side of the road. The resort is approximately 1.5 hours from the airport.
