Destination Highlights
On Phillip Island, discover how exciting the Australian bush can be! Watch furry koalas in the trees, a bush wallaby bounding along or one of Australia's unique natural phenomena, the Fairy Penguin Parade. The many species of birds and seals sunning themselves on Seal Rocks are a delight. Some of Victoria's most famous fishing grounds can be found off Phillip Island. Other activities include tennis, golf, horse riding and visiting historic homesteads, museums and stud farms. Cowes Village Shopping Centre, located nearby, has supermarkets, restaurants, take out food, and some very nice, intimate bistros.
Directions from Major Airport to Resort
The nearest international airport is in Melbourne. From the airport take Tullamarine Freeway to the city of Melbourne. Then drive south via Princes Highway 1 to Dandenong, South Gippsland Highway to Anderson and Phillip Island tourist road to Cowes (approx. 120 km). By rail, from Flinders Street to Dandenong railway station. There is a late afternoon Grenda's bus service which arrives in Cowes early evening. Upon arrival in Cowes turn left at the end of Thompson Ave. Then left again into Warley Ave. Resort Entrance is second driveway up . A bus leaves Spencer St Railway Station at 3.45 pm. Contact the Government Travel Centre for details.
