Destination Highlights
Thousands of years ago, when glacial sheets ripped their way through North America, the Wisconsin River carved out a five-mile gorge known as The Dells. Its extraordinary sandstone rock formations and tributary canyons, some with cliffs more than 100 feet high, have been drawing visitors to the region for decades. The Wisconsin Dells region also offers more water parks, indoor and outdoor, than anywhere else in the U.S. Families can also enjoy numerous theme parks and wildlife parks in the area. There are year-round activities for every visitor: golf, tennis, horseback riding, mountain biking, and fishing, rafting, canoeing, and waterskiing. In winter, enjoy skiing on beginner to black diamond slopes. The city of Wisconsin Dells offers a scenic river walk, shopping, dinner theater, and family attractions. Whether exploring the geologic wonders or driving through the picturesque countryside, your Wisconsin Dells vacation is sure to be one of your most memorable.
