This eco-friendly barn conversion is over 200 years old and oozes charm and character, retaining many original features, including exposed stone walls, vaulted beamed ceilings, stone flag flooring and a woodburner. This holiday property is located on a working arable farm and is surrounded by uninterrupted views towards the sea and Whitby in an idyllic rural setting, just 4 miles from the centre of Whitby on the edge of the quaint hamlet of Sneatonthorpe and 1 mile from the village of Sneaton.

Whitby is a fantastic destination with the steam train departing throughout the summer on its way to Grosmont & Goathland, Whitby boasts a harbour, 3 miles of beach, the 12th century Abbey ruins & St Marys Church. The town also hosts festivals throughout the year with folk weekends, 60s music festivals & Goth weekends, bringing guests from far & wide. Mortar Barn is the ideal place for exploring both the North Yorkshire Moors National Park & the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. Closer to home, is the smugglers coves of Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay & Staithes, where cottages cling to cliffs. Discover little villages tucked away deep in the valleys as you explore the North Yorkshires heather clad moors. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub & restaurant 1 mile.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

From Whitby take the A171 to Whitby and exit right to Ruswarp. Follow the road down pass May Beck, Falling Foss and Uglebarnby on your left and watch for the sign to Sneatonthorpe and then take a right. Mortar Pit Farm is the first farm on your left hand side about half a mile down the lane. From Scarborough follow the A171 to Whitby and exit right to Ruswarp then follow the directions as above
