1 Old Hall Cottage (ref 30417) and 2 Old Hall Cottage (ref 30418) are delightful semi-detached stone holiday cottages converted from Grade II listed buildings. Hall Farm Cottage (ref 30419) is a detached 500-year-old barn conversion near The Old Hall, originally Byers Hall, home of Robert Trotter in 1400s, but a predated inhabited site. The Old Hall stands above the River Wear, with uninterrupted views towards Durham and Weardale from the three acre shared wooded walled garden. The site is free from traffic on an ancient track, less than 100 yards from one of the best fishing rivers (permits available). The surroundings are a rich haven for birds and wildlife, with ‘hidden seats’ in fields and by the River Wear for you to enjoy. The owner has three friendly and inquisitive cats, which you are likely to encounter while you are here.
