There are many walks from the cottage, & from the bridge, you can see two streams converging, one of which has flowed from Holford Combe & the other from Hodders Combe. It was in this glen that the Huguenots settled & began their silk weaving factory. Holford Glen was also used during the filming of 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves' starring Kevin Costner. The Quantock Hills (AONB) are an area of wilderness and tranquillity. Panoramic views lead you through coast, heath & combe. Explore and you will find rocky Jurassic coastline, exposed heathland summits, deep wooded combes, undulating farmland & attractive villages all within this protected landscape. The cottage is a short drive (or a fabulous 2.5 mile walk) from the village of Nether Stowey, with its range of shops & pubs. Places of interest include Coleridge Cottage & Dunster Castle (both NT), the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge & Taunton. Beach 2 miles. Shop 2.5 miles, pub & restaurant 100yds.
