It is the ideal spot for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful natural surroundings. Guests have private use of a shared, indoor, heated swimming pool, and also the use of over 11 acres of natural woodland and grounds that form part of this beautiful location. The owners live on site in the original period farmhouse, accessed via a driveway lined with rhododendrons through a small dense wood. There is a small wooded picnic and play area with a log cabin function room and a large charcoal BBQ, as well as another wooded area accommodating hens and a natural pond. There is access to a public footpath from the properties.

Within walking distance of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site & situated centrally between Walltown Craggs & Cawfield’s picnic area. Just a little further along are the Roman remains & museums of Vindolanda & Housesteads as well as Steel Rigg, Sycamore Gap & the Visitor Centre at Once Brewed (The Sill). Many activities available locally, including birdwatching, horse riding, tennis, golf, fishing & open air swimming.For those guests wishing to explore further afield, within an hr’s drive there is Carlisle, Gateway to Scotland & the Lake District, the historic town of Hexham & fabulous shopping at the Metrocentre, Gateshead, as well as Newcastle city with its regenerated riverside, shopping, theatres & nightlife. A pick up/drop off service is available from the rail station & to or from Cawfields or the Roman Army Museum. Local shops, pub & restaurant 11.5 miles.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

Travelling north up the A1 to Newcastle turn west onto A69, signposted Hexham. 3 miles before reaching Hexham, take the A68 and head north, signed Jedburgh. Continue 2.5 miles and at the roundabout turn left onto the Military Road (B6318) and continue 5 miles to Chollerford. Seeing the George Hotel on the right, at roundabout take 1st exit along B6318 (passing a garage on the left). Travel approx 15 miles and passing the Milecastle Inn on the left continue a further mile. The entrance to Glendale is on the left. Alternatively, Travelling north up the M6, exit at junction 43 and join the A69, following the signs to Hexham. At Greenhead, take the Military Road (B6318) and travel east for just over 2 miles. The entrance to Glendale is on the right.
