The town is renowned as being the former ‘slate capital of Wales’ with a strange, compelling beauty. Located within the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Blaenau Ffestiniog is also the terminus of the famous Ffestiniog Railway, which winds its way through spectacular scenery to the coastal town of Porthmadog.
