This first and second floor apartment is housed in a building dating back to the 18th century, and is above a jewellers shop, right in the heart of the high street in Marlborough. The large windows at the front of the apartment are a wonderful viewing point for the comings and goings in the town. To the rear, a door from the kitchen leads out onto a private, secluded and fully enclosed courtyard patio, a delightful and peaceful place to sit and relax in. An extra benefit is a free private allocated parking space just behind the property. The apartment has been lovingly renovated and features dramatic chandeliers in the hall and on the landing, in keeping with the period of the property.

Marlborough is an old English market town with a unique broad high street which is partly arcaded, and hosts a diverse range of small independent shops, bookshops, antique emporiums and eateries. The town straddles the former stagecoach route from London to Bath, and lies alongside the River Kennet. The high street is lined with 16th to early 19th-century houses and old coaching inns, with a perpendicular church standing proudly at each end - St Mary's, where a curfew bell still sounds each evening, and St Peter's, with its impressive Norman doorway. Behind the high street lies a labyrinth of alleyways filled with half-timbered cottages. The beautiful open spaces of the Marlborough Downs and Salisbury Plain are perfect for keen walkers and cyclists. Within an hours drive, visitors can reach the cities of Bath and Salisbury, the prehistoric stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury, and to the north, the Cotswolds and Oxford. Shop, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

M4 Jct 15. Take the A346 to Marlborough. Continue to town centre and onto the High Street. Pass Waitrose on the left, and between Hamptons Estate Agents and Caffe Nero there is a small passageway called Hilliers Yard. Turn in here and there are some steps on the left hand side up to the apartment door. Keysafe is next to the door code 1604. For the allocated private parking space drive down Hilliers Yard, pass the car parks on the left and right, and just before the Mustard Seed coffee shop there is a row of parking - park in either of the 2 spaces marked private parking at the end of the row, right next to the coffee shop.
