The cottage is located in the village of Minera, which is famous for its lead mines dating back to the Roman times. Perfect for those who love the outdoors, there are lots of great walks in the area including the Minera mountain, the former rail tracks and through the old disused quarry which has been designated as an area of rare scientific interest, due to its rare species of flora and bird life. The historic city of Chester is within a 20-minute drive and Bala, Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium are all within a 40-minute drive. Liverpool can be reached within an hour, or drive to Wallasey and take a ferry across the Mersey. Snowdonia and Betws-y-Coed with its Go Ape Treetop Adventure and the world’s longest zip wire are also within an hour’s drive. Beaches at Barmouth, Conwy and Llandudno are within easy driving distance.
