Low Nest Barn is adjacent to the owner's home and has been tastefully converted to a good standard, offering accommodation with panoramic views over what is thought to be, one of the last undiscovered wildernesses of Britain. The barn is accessed by a rough track and lies a few miles beyond the outskirts of Alston, on the borders of Northumberland and Cumbria, and central in the North Pennines, which is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wildlife is in abundance, and red squirrels and many species of birds can be seen from the barn.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

From the M6 junction 40 take the A686 to Alston. Once you reach Alston, at the T junction turn up the main cobbled street and follow the road upwards and bear round to the right. Follow the B6277. Follow this road for 1.3 miles. And then turn right down a single track road (sat nav will take you to here). Take a slight bend to the right and follow the road ALL the way down to the bottom. NB the last section of this road is very steep and the owners have said 4x4 vehicles ONLY during winter months, - DEC to March - as the road is steep, with a right hand 90 degree bend half way down. Once down the bottom the property is next to the owner's house on the left hand side.
