Rose Cottage provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area with excellent walking from the doorstep and numerous cycling trails along the ‘Moor to Sea’ cycle route and through Dalby Forest. There are quaint market towns at Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley, and picturesque villages at Hutton-le-Hole and Rosedale Abbey. Board the famous steam train in Pickering for a scenic trip to the bustling port of Whitby with its Captain Cook and Dracula connections, and delicious fish and chips! Along the Heritage coastline there are miles of sandy beaches, traditional resorts at Scarborough and Filey, and smugglers’ coves in Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. Not to be missed when visiting Yorkshire is the walled city of York with its iconic minster.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

Travelling on the A170 from Thirsk towards Pickering, pass Kirkbymoorside and continue a further 2miles (approx.) then turn left signed Lastingham. Pass through Appleton-le-Moors and continue ahead following the signs into Lastingham. Arriving in the village bear right after the church and the cottage is on your right.
