The property enjoys views of the island's picturesque countryside during the day, and at night, the pretty lights glisten across the water and over the town below. When the sailing events are on, the water sees an array of coloured sails and ships of all shapes and sizes. With its thatched-roof pubs, restaurants, gift shops and cafes, Shanklin village is a must, and the beach is just 5 minutes further on foot. Discover the island's historic buildings, vineyards, tea rooms or National Trust-owned properties such as Osborne House and Ventnor Botanical Gardens. The Needles are usually top of the agenda for visitors to the island, and for a most scenic walk beside tumbling waterfalls, head to Shanklin Chine. The coast is scattered with secluded bays and coves - a perfect backdrop for beachcombing. For more active explorers, there's also cycling, horse-riding and sailing. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/2 mile.
