Aberaeron has an excellent selection of unique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, all within a setting of Georgian coloured houses and buildings. The harbour is the perfect spot to have a go at crabbing, or enjoy fish and chips and an ice cream flavoured with local honey! There are many other events in the town during the season including the Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival, and the Welsh Pony and Cob Festival. Not far from Llawryglyn, you can take the delightful level walk along the pedestrian and cycle track to Llanerchaeron, an 18th-Century gentry estate, now owned by the National Trust. Here you can wander around the gardens and grounds, enjoy the café, or visit the house itself, the most complete example of the early work of John Nash. Visit nearby New Quay, where you can take a dolphin watching boat trip, Aberystwyth with its pier, promenade and the world’s oldest working electric cliff railway, or take the steam train to Devil’s Bridge and the stunning waterfalls.
