This delightful historical lodge dates back to 1825, and enjoys a wonderful setting with the Argyll Forest on the doorstep.This historical lodge dating back to 1825 has large gardens and a stunning barbecue hut, and offers a peaceful retreat.Is located amidst a glorious landscape of unspoilt wooded glens, fragmented coastline, stunning sea lochs and breathtaking bays, and provides a great base from which to explore this stunningly beautiful area & sample the wide range of activities on offer.

The Argyll Forest, part of the simply gorgeous Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, is on the doorstep & has numerous forest tracks & wonderful waterfalls to explore. Walkers should seek out the Cowal Way, a long distance walk running from Portavadie to Arrochar. A number of public gardens are located in the area such as Ardkinglas, Crarae & Benmore Botanic Gardens with its avenue of giant Redwood trees. There are three golf courses available locally & many opportunities for a spot of fishing. At Colintraive there is a short ferry crossing over to the picturesque Isle of Bute and a visit to the fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House is a must. Tighnabruaich has a RYA sailing school and a selection of small shops. Dunoon has a good centre for shopping, leisure facilities & a small cinema. Inveraray is also a great day out with the castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll and the 19th-century Inveraray Jail all well worth a visit. Shop, pub and restaurant 10 miles.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

From Glasgow (Erskine Bridge)take A82 northwards(at LochLomondside)for approx 26 miles to Tarbet & then to Arrochar. Then take the A83(towards Campbeltown)over 'Rest & Be Thankful' & after approx 5 miles turn left onto the A815 signed Dunoon. At Strachur turn right onto the A886 signposted Glendaruel & follow the road for approx. 10 miles. When you see the sign for Dunans Castle the house is after the second bend and signposted Dunans Lodge. From Western Ferries at Hunters Quay, Dunoon, turn right & follow the road past Holy Loch Marinato the T-junction. Turn right onto the A815(signed Glasgow)for just under a mile. Turn right signed Glendaruel and follow this road. Pass the signs for Glendaruel & after approx 3 miles watch for the bridge on the road and the lodge is on the right
