Other popular walks include the Tolkien Trail & the Witches Trail around neighbouring Pendle Hill. Alternatively why not follow the gourmet Ribble Valley Food Trail which showcases some of the country’s best food suppliers & restaurateurs. The pretty villages of Downham, Waddington, Chatburn, Whalley & Chipping are all within a 15 minute drive, & the Roman village of Ribchester is just 5 minutes away.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

From M6 take exit 31& follow A59 towards Clitheroe for approximately 6.5 miles. At the traffic lights turn left onto Ribchester Road/B6245 & follow for 1.5 miles. Where the road forks, follow road round to the left & go over the small bridge continuing on the B6245 for another 0.5 mile then turn right onto Gallows Lane, signed Hurst Green.Follow for 1.5 miles. At crossroads turn right onto B6243 signed for Whalley & Clitheroe & follow for 1.5 miles until you arrive in Hurst Green. Take the right hand turn immediately before the Shireburn Arms pub onto Lambing Clough Lane which is a single track lane. Quakerfield House is the second driveway on the right hand signed & there is a sign at the bottom of the drive carved into a stone wheel. Follow the drive passing the house up to the lodge.
