Many scenic walks can be enjoyed locally around Chichester' harbour and nature reserve. The harbour is a 2-minute walk, as are many restaturants, inns and local shops. There are easy road links to many attractions, or alternatively, for a car-free holiday, there are good transport links by bus or rail to Portsmouth with its Spinnaker Tower, historic ships, waterside dining, designer shopping outlets, museums and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight. There is also a bus/train route to historic Chichester, with cobbled pedestrianised streets, festival theatre, Pallant Gallery and ornate cathedral. The picturesque sailing village of Bosham is within easy reach, as are various National Trust homes and gardens, the nearest being Uppark, a 17th-century country house.
