The Riviera Maya is one of the most beautiful paradises in Mexico due to its beaches and ancient Mayan ruins. The climate is tropical on the coastal side, so comfortable clothes in natural fabrics are recommended. Mexican cuisine is based on corn, chilli, tomato and avocado pear. Enchiladas, tacos and tortillas are amongst the typical dishes. Shopping is a great option, as you will find crafts shops offering items typical of the Mayan culture, glassware, jewelry… We suggest you visit the following places which we know you’ll love: Xcaret-An impressive park with archaeological remains; Xel-ha-Considered to be the largest natural aquarium in the world; Xplor; Chichen Itza-One of the main archaeological sites on the Yucatán peninsula. Cobá-An archaeological site of the Pre-Columbian Maya culture. Tulum-The best and most well-known example of the Oriental Coast style, which typifies the architecture of the Mayan buildings. Ek Balam-It was a very rich Maya capital called Talol.
