Hadrian’s Wall,the Roman Wall, was a defensive fortification in the Roman province of Britannia in 122 AD during the reign of the emperor Hadrian. Leave Newcastle Airport head south, go through 1st roundabout, at 2nd roundabout take second exit onto A969 taking the exit towards Throckley/Woolsington. At next roundabout take 3rd exit. Turn right onto Stamfordham Road B6324, in approx 3 miles turn left onto B6323. At roundabout take 2nd exit onto Throckley Interchange at next roundabout take 3rd exit onto A69 slip road Hexham/Carlise. At Styford roundabout take first exit onto A68 The South Darlington in approx 3 miles turn right onto Lead Road, in approx 3 miles turn left onto Coal Road.
