Just outside Scarborough is Fort King George, built in the 1770s by the British. Its museum offers an overview of island history and well worth a visit. Admission is about 90 cents.

German ex-pat Veronika La Fortune and her Trinidadian husband, Lennon, run a horse-rescue operation called Being With Horses.
Besides therapy sessions for disabled children and adults (plus an annual summer camp), they offer rides to tourists.
