Alternatively you can venture 30 minutes south of Hobart to Huon Valley. Take an exhilarating ride up the gentle rapids of the Huon River on the Huon Jet Boat. Then pop into the School of Wooden Boat Building on the river at Franklin.
Once you’ve got over your sea legs, put on your air legs at the Tahune Airwalk. Here you’ll walk 40 metres above the riverside rainforest canopy. You can take a return walk over the swinging bridges or try the thrill of the Eagle Glide.
If visiting the area on a Friday or Saturday, a must stop for lunch is Masaaki’s in Geeveston. Here you will be spoilt with sushi of delicate flavour combinations only rivalled by the charming manner of owner, Masaaki Koyama.
Then enjoy dinner at one of Hobart’s many world class restaurants.
