The number of Broome’s seasons. There’s a winter season from May – october with daytime temperatures between mid 20s and low 30s. Summer is from november – April and has temperatures above the 30s with spectacular sunsets.
The age of the dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point. The footprints from the early Cretaceous period are 30 metres out to sea and can only be seen during
very low tide. Plant fossils are also preserved in the sandstone at Gantheaume Point.

WORLD’S OLDEST OUTDOOR PICTURE THEATRE
The main town centre of Broome is known as Chinatown and
has Broome’s Sun Pictures - the world’s oldest operating outdoor picture theatre.
CABLE BEACH
in 1889, a telegraph undersea cable was laid from Broome to Singapore. The name Cable Beach was given to the landfall site. The beach is 7km from Broome and sunset camel rides operate daily along the beach.
