MIYAZAKI-KEN, Japan
Miyazaki city is a seaside town located on the south-
eastern side of Kyushu and has the warmest climates
and sunniest days on the mainland of Japan. The city is well
known for its summer festivals and fireworks. Take a trip to Takachiho, a town located in the northern most part of Miyazaki. There, an impressive 17meter high Minainotaki waterfall awaits you.
Take the riverside path along the banks of river towards the Takachiho Shrine or hire a rowing boat for closer viewing ($5.50pp; www.japanvisitor.
com). Miyazaki Science Center focuses on space exploration, astronomy, energy and physics with lots of hands-on exhibits, popular with children.
