At Piako Gliding Club on Matamata Airfield (State Highway 27), anyone can fly. If you are sitting in a glider for the first time, Piako Gliding Club’s pilot training will first take you through a trial flight, followed by the learn-to-fly course and an advanced training course. Experienced solo pilots wishing to take a gilder on a cross-country flight can pick up skills and knowledge from the panel of professional instructors. www.glidingmatamata.co.nz
