Mariner Shores is currently trialing a 20 week Give Back Project in conjunction with the Australian Defense Force (ADF). Each week, for 20 weeks, one
two bedroom apartment is made available free of charge for a soldier returning from active duty in Afghanistan to spend time with his/her family in a relaxed holiday environment without the normal every day pressures.
General Manager, Mariner Shores, Mr. Brent Schafer said that the ADF were very pleased to accept this offer. “We
have met some incredible soldiers and their families. These are the people who take the big risks to make sure we here in Australia remain safe and free and we are pleased to assist where we can,” said Mr Schafer. In other news, Mariner Shores will be closing its doors temporarily in November for refurbishing. See the full article on page 39.
REMEMBERED NOT FORGOTTEN: Soldiers are offered a dawn patrol of a very different kind at Burleigh Heads by Mariner Shores. Soldiers can take time to relax with their families at one of Australia’s best beaches.
