The best place to land and take off...
Incheon International Airport, South korea’s busiest airport, is the only airport
in the world to be voted best in the world by Council International for eight consecutive years. When complete, the 72-gate, 7.4-million-square-foot Terminal 2 will effectively double the airport’s size and boost its role as a key asset to korea’s fast-growing economy. Lush expanses of indoor green space will feature natural daylight; waterfalls, koi ponds, and streams intermingled with luxury lifestyle centers and boutique shopping.
The retail lifestyle centers offer double-level shopping and remote duty-free pick up of purchases from Seoul.
CHINA
Chinese Travellers Changing Trends
According to the Wall Street Journal, although mainland China travellers tend to prefer Hong kong and Macau for their duty-free shopping, increasing numbers of tourists are exploring beyond greater China for their rest and relaxation. A recent survey by travel website Trip Advisor found that nearly half of the top 20 international destinations for Chinese travellers were in Southeast Asia, while locations such as kyoto, Japan, and Jeju Island in South korea are undergoing explosive growth in interest from mainland Chinese tourists. According to Chinese travel agency Ctrip, Chinese interest in Southeast Asia is driven by the country’s young white-collar workers, who don’t have the time or money to go as far as Europe. LAS VEGAS
Vegas Tops Itself
The crown jewel of Sin City’s new multi-million dollar shopping district, the Linq, will be the 550-foot-tall High Roller Ferris Wheel, which will eclipse Asias’s 541-foot Singapore Flyer as the world’s tallest. Each of the 28 glass-enclosed cabins will carry as many as 40 people on a half-hour ride that offers bird’s-eye views of the Strip and desert. First call for passengers comes early next year. caesars.com
