This popular destination is a treasure trove for Chinese antiques and collectibles. At the Rua de Estalagens, Rua St. Antonio, and Rua de São Paulo (all in the neighborhood of St. Paul’s), you can find all things vintage, from ancient coins to 19th century stocks and shares. If you’re a shopper of exquisite taste buds, you can find
a wide range of tea and coffee from around the world at Rua de Cinco de Outubro and the Avenida do Coronel Mesquita.
Macau manufactures a bulk of clothing for international markets and it’s easy to find overruns and seconds of the latest fashion at a fraction of the prices in leading boutiques. The best
places to shop for clothes are around the historic Senado Square and the Red Market, while the shop houses at Felicidade (once a red-light district) offers a fascinating browse among shops selling jewelry curios and
even live snakes.
If you’re up for a scavenger hunt, the most popular flea market in Macau
is found in St. Paul’s (off a downhill turn at the Rua das Estalagens). Its off-the-beaten-path destination makes it an utterly fun experience for the bargain hunter. Another well-known shopping area in Macau is the Avenida Horta e Costa but the best deals are really found in the streets surrounding the main streets.
You can’t go to Macau and not visit her most famous attractions – the casinos! Try your luck at the recently renovated Casino Lisboa, the best- known casino in Asia with its loud 1960s exterior and reputation as the Asian gambler’s preferred choice. Or twirl with Lady Fortune at
The Venetian Macau – the island’s biggest casino.
The rich heritage of Portuguese and Chinese influence makes Macau a wonderful place of exploration for all that it has to offer. A double dose of Hong Kong and Macau will surely get you coming back for more!

Do’s:
• Pack light! You’ll need the space for your return trip.
• Try a hand at bargaining for the cheapest prices possible!
• Sample as much local food as you can.
Don’ts:
• There’s no excuse to be rude to anyone, no matter how discourteous they can be.
• Burning a hole in your wallet in the casino is not a wise idea.
• Stay away from dodgy- looking stall owners. They probably overcharge you for merchandise.
