trekking. There are popular treks from Tekek to Juara or you can test yourself by hiking from Tekek all the way to Monkey Bay. If you want to hop from one village to the other the best way is to use the Mersing/Tioman Bluewater Express ferry service. They charge around RM15 (SGD$6) per trip making it an easy and reliable way to explore the island by boat.
Tioman has many beautiful cascading waterfalls and one of the most popular
is the Mukut Waterfall where many
local families hang out on the weekends. Tioman’s biggest waterfall is the Asah Waterfall and its natural beauty provides a welcomed change from the beach and is well suited for a picnic lunch.
Tioman is accessible by boat from Mersing in Johor. The Bluewater Express ferry service tickets cost RM85/ Adult (SGD$35.50) and RM75/Child (SGD$30) for return transfer. There’s
also a plane service by Berjaya Air from Changi Aiport in Singapore and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor.
