HINTERLAND NATIONAL PARKS
Not to be missed is the breathtaking panorama from the summit of North Brother Mountain, an ideal spot to picnic with a birds-eye view of the world, plenty of parking, well-kept, clean and sheltered picnic tables, lawns and public toilets. Walk off lunch on rainforest tracks or watch the hang-gliding and parasailing action, particularly in summer’s north easterly breezes. Winter is time to tackle the strenuous Laurieton track and to hear lyrebirds in the cool gullies. The local Birpai legend of three brothers killed and
buried in the area, representing the three peaks – North, Middle and South Brother – coincides with Captain Cook’s naming of the Three Brothers peaks as he sailed
by in 1770.
OPEN: Park may close with poor weather or fire danger. Check on 02 6588 5555
