Pearl of the Andaman
Phuket is blessed with magnificent coves and bays, palm-fringed white beaches, smaller surrounding islands, hospitable people, delightful turn-of-the-century Sino-Portuguese architecture and lush tropical landscape. Situated on southern Thailand’s Indian Ocean coastline and the country’s biggest island province, Phuket sits in the Andaman Sea, with famous beaches including Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala and Nai Harn Beach. A strong Chinese influence is evident in its many Chinese shrines and restaurants
– there’s even an annual Chinese Vegetarian Festival. Many other ethnicities also bring their traditions and festivals from around the world to Phuket. With its very welcoming atmosphere and activities for everyone, Phuket is a tourist hotspot in Thailand.
